Professional biography
Professor Ezra Maritim holds a Doctor of Education (1979) and Master of Education (1975) from Harvard University, and a BA from the University of Nairobi (1973). He served as University Secretary and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development) at Kenyatta University, and as Vice-Chancellor of Egerton University. He chaired the Technical Working Committee for the Operationalization of the Open University of Kenya and served as a consultant for UNESCO and UNDP. He coordinated the SADC Centre of Specialization in Open and Distance Learning for Teacher Education, and has served as a visiting professor at the University of South Africa and The Open University of Tanzania.
