Prof.Kefa Chesire Chepkwony

Professor Kefa Chesire Chepkwony is an Associate Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship & Business, School of Business and Economics at the Open University of Kenya, with more than 15 years of experience in university teaching, research, graduate supervision, curriculum development, institutional leadership and academic administration. He holds a PhD in Business Management (Moi University, Kenya), an MA in International Social Entrepreneurship (University of Bologna, Italy), an M.Phil. in Environmental Planning & Management (Moi University, Kenya), a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (Moi University, Kenya), and a BSc in Agribusiness & Management (Egerton University, Kenya). His teaching and professional expertise encompasses entrepreneurship, business model design, intrapreneurship, strategic and project management, research methodology, innovation, business incubation, resource mobilisation and enterprise development. His research focuses on ecopreneurship, eco-innovation, sustainable and circular textile value chains, business modelling, research commercialisation, agribusiness, technology adoption and the performance of micro, small and medium enterprises. Professor Chepkwony has led and supported multidisciplinary projects funded by the World Bank, UKAid/FCDO, UNEP, Italian Development Cooperation and other development partners. His consultancy experience covers strategic planning, project design, monitoring and evaluation, proposal development, institutional sustainability and business incubation. His community engagement includes mentoring entrepreneurs, training youth, women and persons with disabilities, supporting rural livelihoods, promoting peace and food-security initiatives, and serving on school boards and university-industry innovation platforms.
