Dr.Susan Kiragu

Dr. Susan Kiragu holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi. She has worked as an academic researcher at the University of Cambridge and as Research Manager for Camfed International, conducting research on African education across nine countries. In 2013, she founded Children in Freedom, an NGO providing scholarships and mentorship, and co-founded Freedom International School—East Africa's first Afrocentric school, ranked Top 10 globally by T4 Education in 2023 and winner of the Global Schools Prize in Arts, Culture and Creativity 2026. She chairs the Academic Research and Linkages (AR&L) Committee of Council.
