OUK Staff Participate in the PROSPER Internal Assessment Seminar in Germany

A delegation from the Open University of Kenya (OUK) participated in the PROSPER Internal Assessment Seminar held from 15–17 June 2026 in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, at the Europa-Universität Viadrina. The OUK delegation comprised the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Elijah Omwenga; the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning and Infrastructure), Prof. Christopher Chepken; the Dean, School of Science and Technology, Dr. Beth Kiratu; and the Chairperson of the Department of Economics in the School of Business and Economics, Dr. James Onyango. The seminar forms part of the broader PROSPER initiative — Promoting Opportunities and Strengthening Partnerships for Enhanced Internationalisation between Europe and Kenya — a collaborative project involving the Open University of Kenya, Europa-Universität Viadrina (Germany), the University of Eldoret (Kenya), Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France) and the Training Centre in Communication Africa (TCC Africa). The Internal Assessment Seminar builds on a series of preceding PROSPER project activities, including the WP4 Digital Collaboration workshop hosted by the Open University of Kenya in March 2026, the WP2 International Outreach workshop held at the University of Eldoret in March 2026, and a virtual International Outreach workshop organised by TCC Africa in April 2026. The three-day seminar brought together project partners to review progress reports from previous work packages, assess the quality of project management and implementation, and map out the next phase of activities to advance internationalisation goals across partner institutions.
