PROSPER — Promoting Opportunities and Strengthening Partnerships for Enhanced Internationalisation between Europe and Kenya

The PROSPER Project is an Erasmus+-funded initiative that seeks to strengthen cooperation frameworks, institutionalise internationalisation best practices and foster a culture of innovation and global engagement within Kenyan higher education institutions. The project brings together five partner institutions: the Open University of Kenya, the University of Eldoret (Kenya), the European University Viadrina (Germany), Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France) and the Training Centre in Communication Africa (TCC Africa). Running from 2025 to 2028, PROSPER is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Key project activities include capacity-building workshops on digital collaboration and virtual mobility (Work Package 4), international outreach and partnership mapping activities (Work Package 2), and the promotion of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) as a model for cross-border academic collaboration. PROSPER also supports the development of shared institutional frameworks and standards for digitally enabled internationalisation. The project has engaged over 30 participants from partner institutions in workshops and seminars held in Kenya and Europe, and conducted an independent external evaluation of project implementation quality.
