Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba Leads Open University of Kenya’s Retreat, Strengthening Commitment to Accessible Education
The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba has this afternoon graced the Open University of Kenya’s Council and Management retreat in Naivasha.

The Open University of Kenya is the country’s first full-fledged open and distance learning institution of higher learning, established to enhance access to tertiary education and training.
At the retreat, the Cabinet Secretary affirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting the university’s growth and innovation. He commended the Council and leadership team for their dedication to building a forward-looking institution that broadens and democratizes access to higher education through open and distance learning.
The Cabinet Secretary encouraged them to fast-track the rollout of market-driven programmes, strengthen digital infrastructure, and cultivate strategic partnerships. The workshop aims to lay a strong foundation for positioning the university as a continental leader in accessible education.
