The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
- Develop research proposals to secure graduate student and staff development grants, enhancing existing knowledge.
- Conduct research and disseminate results through various channels for community and institutional benefit.
- Publish books and articles for teaching, reference, and further research.
- Review research and academic journals to support effective teaching and learning, fulfilling the University Mandate.
- Prepare and revise curricula to meet evolving needs and market demands.
- Create course descriptions, outlines, and teaching aids for effective delivery.
- Supervise and mentor scholars and postgraduate students to ensure quality curriculum delivery and research output.
- Transfer knowledge, including practical skills, for long-term benefit.
- Encourage critical thinking and rational discourse among students.
- Assess work and examinations, providing constructive feedback to students.
- Promote equal opportunities and address staff and student needs in teaching content and delivery.
- Establish collaborations and exchanges with local and international organizations and universities.
- Present papers and research findings at conferences to enhance the University's reputation.
- Provide expertise in local and international committees for informed decision-making.
- Guide staff in report and publication preparation at various levels within the University.
- Develop strategic policies and procedures to enhance training and learning effectiveness, aligning with the University's mandate.
- Chair committees and contribute to institutional decision-making and governance.
- Cultivate internal and external networks to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

For appointment to this Grade, one MUST have:
- An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited university recognized by the OUK Senate;
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent and research experience;
- A minimum of sixty (60) equivalent publication points since attaining Associate Professorship or equivalent, of which at least forty (40) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
- Supervised a minimum of five (5) postgraduate students to completion, including at least two (2) at doctoral level since the last promotion.
- Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
- Attracted research or development funds as an Associate Professor or equivalent.
- Proficiency in ICT.

- An earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited university recognized by the OUK Senate;
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent and research experience;
- A minimum of forty-eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent of at least thirty-two (32) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
- Supervised a minimum of four (4) postgraduate students to completion, including at least one (1) doctoral student since the last promotion.
- Attracted research or development funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
- Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
- Have attracted research or development funds or educational resources as a Senior Lecturer or its equivalent.
The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
- Engage in research, publication, teaching, and student supervision to fulfill University objectives;
- Develop grant-worthy research proposals for internal and external funding;
- Collaborate with local, regional, and international partners to address societal issues;
- Disseminate research findings through journal publications for public knowledge sharing;
- Train, mentor, and evaluate students to ensure high-quality research output;
- Review research proposals to enhance their grant attractiveness;
- Serve as an external examiner to promote academic exchange and excellence;
- Provide consultancy services to address community challenges and contribute to societal development;
- Acquire patents for innovations to protect Intellectual Property rights;
- Collaborate with staff to enhance course delivery quality and monitoring;
- Develop adaptable teaching models to ensure effective and continuous learning;
- Assess student progress through course evaluations and examinations;
- Identify and procure relevant learning resources to enhance teaching quality;
- Develop practical modules aligned with the curriculum for hands-on learning;

Person Specification
For appointment to this post, a candidate must:
- An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from an accredited university recognized by the OUK Senate;
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience as a Lecturer or equivalent and research experience or six (6) years in research/ industry experience;
- A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
- Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent;
- Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
- Attracted research or development funds;
- In-depth professional/discipline-specific knowledge and experience in a specialized field or broad knowledge of several fields.
The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the implementation of administrative functions of the division, department, school, unit or section.
- Taking minutes in various committees.
- Supervision of staff under them.
- Advice the head of department on all matters relating to the department.
- Assist in the setting and implementation of the departmental PC targets.
- Assist in the adherence to the Quality Management Standards (QMS) for the implementation of the performance management system of the department.
- Support planning and budgeting in the division, department, school, Unit or section.
- Any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.
For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized University.
- Have three (3) years of relevant administrative experience preferably grade 9.
- Be proficient in computer applications packages.
- Certified Secretaries (CS) Level I will be an added advantage.
- Be a registered member of a recognized professional body.
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity upon successful appointment.
The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
- Develop both front-end and back-end components of web applications, ensuring seamless integration between the client and server sides.
- Design and implement robust application architectures and frameworks.
- Create dynamic and responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.
- Build and maintain server-side applications using languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Design, create, and maintain databases, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Develop and maintain RESTful services and APIs to support front-end functionality and data exchange.
- Write and perform unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, as well as debug issues across the stack.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and delivery processes.
- Implement security measures to protect applications from vulnerabilities and ensure data privacy.
- Work closely with designers, developers, and project managers to define requirements and timelines.
- Conduct code reviews and create documentation for code, APIs, and application processes.
For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication engineering, or a related field from an accredited and recognized University.
- Experience developing web and mobile applications
- Familiarity with common stacks
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
- Knowledge of multiple back-end languages Java, Python and JavaScript frameworks Angular, React, Node.js
- Familiarity with databases MySQL, MongoDB, web servers, Apache and UI/UX design
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

The duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
- Manning the customer care desk;
- Distributing presidential speeches;
- Receiving and ushering VIPs/guests during state functions and national days’ celebrations and commemorations;
- Distributing presidential speeches;
- Maintaining daily record of visitors’ details;
- Profiling visitors; maintaining good ambience in the reception area;
- Responding to visitors’ queries and telephone inquiries;
- Recording and confirming visitors’ appointments; receiving, guiding and directing visitors to designated offices and areas;
- Issuing visitors passes; implementing the seating plan; and
- Tagging VIP seats during official and state functions.
For appointment to this grade, one MUST have:
- Served in the grade of Assistant Reception Officer grade 5 for a minimum period of three (3) years;
OR
- Diploma in any of the following fields: Customer Service, Public Relations, Hospitality Management, International Relations and Diplomacy, Communication Management, Event Management, Front Office or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in computer application skills; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
The duties and responsibilities entail:
- Assist in the implementation of administrative functions of the division, department, school, Unit or section.
- Carry out costing and quantity of works and equipment.
- Supervise central services including maintenance works, estates and equipment.
- Assist in the setting and implementation of the departmental PC targets.
- Assist in the adherence to the Quality Management Standards (QMS) for the implementation of the performance management system of the department.
- Support planning and budgeting in the division, department, school, unit or section.
- Experience in maintenance of buildings will be an added advantage.
- Any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Relative weighted points and minimum points will be calculated as provided for by CUE for academic staff.
