UNIVERSITY ENGAGES EXPERTS ON CONTENT DEVELOPMENT FOR THE NEW UPCOMING PROGRAMMES
This week, the Open University of Kenya (OUK) brought together over eighty (80) experts to spearhead content development for its upcoming Bachelor's, Postgraduate Diploma, and Postgraduate programmes. The experts developed content in the areas of Business, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Project Planning, Management, Marketing, Human Resource, Entrepreneurship, Data Science, Computing, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Interactive Technologies, Education, Educational Leadership, Technology Education, Learning Technologies and Media, Health Sciences to Agriculture and Food Systems.
The exercise focused on creating digital learning materials that align with the University's commitment to accessible education. The content development process includes crafting learning materials, case studies, videos, discussion forums, quizzes, assignments, and reference materials, ensuring students have a comprehensive and interactive learning experience.
The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Elijah Omwenga, lauded the initiative highlighting the importance of technical expertise and experience in delivering high-quality content.
‘Content – online content- is the gateway to what the Open University of Kenya represents. I look forward to seeing excellent content that will keep the University towards the trajectory of success,’ said Prof. Omwenga.
The Ag. Vice Chancellor also emphasized the need for rigorous quality assurance to meet academic standards. To support this initiative, OUK provided training to the developers on module creation and formatting. Internal mechanisms are also in place to ensure consistency and quality in the final product.
