Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Carrying out market survey and research;
  2. Carrying out disposal of stores and equipment in accordance to the laid down regulations and procedures;
  3. Coordinating the identification of unserviceable, obsolete and surplus stores and equipment for disposal;
  4. Providing secretariat services to the Disposal Committee;
  5. Coordinating periodic stock control;
  6. Consolidating periodic stores returns;
  7. Maintaining an up-to-date database of the University’s assets;
  8. Authorizing issuance of stores;
  9. Coordinating preparation and management of inventory control register;
  10. Implementing inventory and assets management techniques and approaches;
  11. Implementing asset management systems;
  12. Maintaining assets register, transfer and valuation;
  13. Complying with Procurement Regulation;
  14. Preparing periodic and annual supply chain management reports and returns;
  15. Participating in quality management and performance contracting processes; and
  16. Supervising assigned staff.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

For appointment, one MUST have:
  1. Six (6) years’ relevant cumulative work experience, three (3) of which that should have been at the grade of Procurement Assistant I or in a comparable position;
  2. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Procurement, Procurement and Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies Chain Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution;
  3. Higher Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Procurement, Procurement and Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies Chain Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution will be an added advantage;
  4. Registered with relevant professional bodies; and
  5. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
