OUK SIGNS MOU WITH THE INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED SECRETARIES TO STRENGTHEN AREAS OF MUTUAL BENEFIT

The Open University of Kenya (OUK) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, signed under the leadership of the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs, Prof. Carolyne Omulando, paves the way for collaboration on a wide range of initiatives of mutual benefit to the two institutions. The delegation from ICS was led by its Chief Executive Officer, FCS Jeremiah N. Karanja, MBS.

Under the MoU, OUK and ICS will jointly engage in training on research and corporate governance, undertake joint marketing, collaborate in capacity-building programs among others. The partnership holds significant promise for OUK students, who stand to benefit in several key ways. Students will gain access to enhanced learning opportunities in corporate governance and related professional practices, positioning them to excel in both academic and career pursuits. Additionally, the collaboration will expose students to practical case studies and joint research initiatives, deepening their understanding of governance and leadership. The partnership also opens up valuable networking and career development opportunities through ICS’s extensive professional membership and corporate linkages.

This milestone reaffirms OUK’s commitment to forging partnerships that not only advance academic excellence but also create real-world opportunities for its students.
