Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for Trauma-Exposed Workers
Overview
Working with people experiencing crisis, loss, trauma or distress can take a toll on your own wellbeing. This practical short course helps participants understand the impact of trauma-exposed work, recognise stress-related responses, strengthen self-care and resilience, and provide basic psychosocial support to others safely and within their role.
What you will learn:
- Recognise stress, burnout, compassion fatigue and secondary traumatic stress
- Use practical grounding, emotional regulation and self-care tools
- Set healthy boundaries
- Communicate supportively with people in distress
- Know when and how to link someone to further support
