Dr.James K. Choge

Dr. James Choge is a Lecturer in the Department of Management Studies at the School of Business and Economics, The Open University of Kenya. He possesses a robust interdisciplinary academic foundation, holding a PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management), an MSc in Project Management, and a BSc in Information Technology, all from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). His teaching expertise spans Strategic Management, Project Planning and Management, and the application of ICT in business environments. Dr. Choge brings a unique blend of military, academic, and administrative experience to his role. Earlier in his career, he served with the Kenya Defence Forces (Kenya Air Force) at the National Defence College in Karen, Kenya, with his final posting at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), also in Karen, gaining exceptional skills in strategic planning, logistics, project execution, and leadership in high-stakes environments. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Dr. Choge has held academic positions at the Management University of Africa, Islamic University, and several other Kenyan universities, where he has been actively involved in curriculum delivery, examination administration, and the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research. His research interests are anchored in Public Policy, Leadership Dynamics, and Strategic Management, with a growing focus on the intersection of technology and organizational performance. Beyond academia, Dr. Choge is committed to community engagement, having recently spearheaded the MAMA FAIR 2026 OUTREACH at Ongata Rongai Sub-County Hospital, a health initiative on maternal and child health, nutrition, and mental wellness.
