Mahitaji ya kujiunga
- A mean grade of C+ and above at KCSE where applicable or its equivalent using a criteria that the Senate may determine.
- Diplomas or professional qualifications from recognized institutions.
- KCSE certificate or equivalent and a certificate of foundation or bridging courses from recognized institutions.
- Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with a minimum of 1 principal and subsidiary passes.
- Evidence of KCSE certificate or equivalent and a portfolio for the purpose of recognition of prior learning determination (e.g. workplace training of 2 years, work experience in a relevant field of 2 years, or two short courses lasting at least 3 months each in relevant fields).
- Any other qualifications that may be determined by Senate recognizing prior learning leading to equivalents of the identified criteria, experience and skills of learners.
- A bachelor's degree from an institution recognized by Senate.
- Have prior experience in a business environment.
- Candidates with Diploma qualifications in any other relevant areas as approved by the University Senate will also be considered.
- Mature candidates with at least two principals at A level in arts subjects obtained in the same sitting may also be admitted.
- Admission may also be granted to candidates with alternative qualifications as recognized by the University Senate.

Muundo wa programu
The programme runs over four academic years of study, each comprising two semesters, for a total of 8 semesters. Learners take 7 courses per semester, giving a total of 56 timetabled courses across the programme (the full course outline contains 60 distinct units including internships and electives). Each course unit carries 3 credit hours, with one credit hour equivalent to a minimum of 13 instructional hours. A typical course unit comprises 13 hours of asynchronous online lectures, 26 hours of synchronous tutorials/group work, 39 hours of individualised learning and 6 hours reserved for examinations, totalling 84 instructional hours per course. Candidates are required to undertake an industrial attachment of at least two months at the end of every academic year, and to write a supervised research project and a complete business plan.

The pass mark shall be 40% for each course registered.
Projects, business plans and internships/industrial attachments are graded out of 100%.
A candidate who fails one or more courses amounting up to 25% of the prescribed course units in a given semester shall be eligible to do a supplementary examination.
A candidate who fails more than 50% of the prescribed course units in any academic year shall be discontinued.
